Croft Acoustics RIAA R

This is the Croft RIAA R phono stage from Croft Acoustics in the UK. The "R" is the regulated power supply version. It is a major upgrade over the regular RIAA unit. Glenn Croft makes these by hand, point-to-point wired. No circuit boards. They really are works of art. It is moving magnet only, 47k input impedance and 48 db gain. A suitable step-up device is needed for low-output moving coil cartridges. It uses one 12AU7, four 12AX7s, and a 5651WA voltage regulator tube. The 5651 lasts a long time, and is readily available. In the photo, as viewed from the front, the 12AU7 is on the left.
I am the original owner. In true minimalist fashion, the unit has no owner's manual or documentation of any kind. It came double boxed with shredded UK newspapers as padding between the two boxes. That is the Glenn Croft aesthetic. I have the original inner box and packing foam, and will ship double boxed. It has the original JJ tubes installed, and they have very low hours since I used different tubes in the unit. I rated conservatively as "8" but I can't find any blemishes on it anywhere.
