Selling great set of AES (Audio Electronic Supply - early name for what is now Cary Audio) tube Monoblocks.
The AES Sixpack uses 6 EL-34 output tubes and El-84 and 12BZ7 inputs tubes per monoblock.
I am the 2nd owner. They were sent to Cary to be upgraded with 10 Hexfreds, Mundorf gold/silver signal caps, and 4 Jensen film in oil caps for each amp.
Amps were full tuned and adjusted by Cary and returned. They have had about 50 hrs since the upgrade.
Tubes were upgraded from Tung-Sol output tubes to matched (as a 6 tube set) new Mullards for outputs,
Genalex Gold Lion EL-84 and RCA 12BZ7 for input side. The original Tung-sol sounded very good, but I like the sound of Mullards and the ones from the latest Mullard factory sound extremely smooth and detailed.
The original Tung-Sol tubes were tested by Cary, all tested good and are included as well as spare EL-84 and 12BZ7 input tubes.
Superb amps offering great bass, classic smooth midrange and nicely detailed highs with sounding hard or harsh.
Can be picked up and will drive upto 100 mi to deliver. If Picked up, will compensate buyer at $.50/mi (both ways) at a max of $200.
