B&W's 600 series are designed with great components in a simpler cabinet to keep them affordable. It might now have a fancy wood finish, but inside its heavily braced, tuned and ported for convincing bass. The 684 is a ported 2.5 way design which produces a full-bodied sound thanks to its flowport. Using a surprisingly exciting metal dome tweeter and woven Kevlar midrange and woofers the sound is classic B&W. They are perfect for enjoying a evening of music or watching the latest blockbuster movie.
This pair sounded excellent through all of our tests. The drivers are clean and near perfect. The cabinets are black ash and have only minor scuffs and are generally excellent. Both grills are clean with no broken pins. One grill have a few snags but not too noticeable.
