Audio Alchemy DDP-1 w PS-5

This is an Audio Alchemy DDP-1 with the PS-5 power station. Retail price is $2590, although it was discounted a lot, usually below $2000. For Bluebook the two pieces are listed separately. I have also updated the firmware to the latest version. You need to download the windows or mac driver from the Elac website (https://www.elac.com/firmware/) for the USB interface.


I am the original owner and have owned it for a little over 3 years. I am upgrading to the Benchmark dac3 so I am selling the DDP-1. This is a very nice sounding unit, I found it better than the Benchmark dac1 HDR (which I had prior to the DDP-1). It should be competitive with the dac2 in sound based on different forums I have viewed. Has a few idiosyncrasies of which the most important is do not use USB 3 to connect to PC. Must use USB 2 or the unit does not operate properly (did email with Peter Madnick to figure this out). Sometimes the sound does not sync with the volume control (only in USB mode so I suspect driver), but if you turn the PS-5 off and then on it seems to fix it (this has only happened about 4 or 5 times since I purchased it).
