Custom Stackable Audio Rack, Amp Stands. Condition is New. Solid hardwood construction. There are (6) individual shelves, (3) pairs of different shelf spacing - 9", 7.5", and 5.5" (space underneath) - and they can be arranged in any combination. They can be stacked vertically, equally side-by-side as shown here, or, for example, as a pair for amp stands to each side and a center stack of four shelves; any combination.

The shelves have Tech Products 'No Vibes' damping feet on the bottom of each leg and a recess on the top of each leg so that each shelf locates and aligns to the next while keeping each shelf isolated. The shelves are 1.5" thick, 19" deep, and have 20" clear width (22" overall width). Aside from the benefit of flexibility from being stackable in any array, the individual shelves make component installation very easy. Place the first component on a shelf, make it's connections, place the next shelf on top, and then the next component. No need to pull out the rack to get behind it or turn components sideways on the shelf to make connections. Interconnects can be shorter, cable routing neater, and the rack positioned closer to the wall behind.

The shelves are 'butcher block' construction which is inherently stable physically and acoustically due to the multiple grain directions of the laminated pieces that make up the shelf. This also makes the shelves extremely strong; they easily hold 400lbs each. For this set I chose Hevea wood (maple genus) for the shelves while the legs are walnut. Finish is a hand-rubbed low-gloss, oil/varnish mixture.

I can make this system in virtually any configuration. Choose the number of shelves and heights to suit your needs. Choose your woods and orientation (end grain to side or front). Wood choices for shelves are Maple, Oak, Walnut, Hevea, and Cherry. Legs can be virtually any hardwood available. Price per shelf runs from $150 on the low end to about $275 on the high end for the common hardwoods.

Send me a message if you'd like me to work something up for you. I provide drawings and detailed specs up front and progress pics as I build - I try to avoid surprises for either of us. I also custom design and build other audio-related products such as speakers, speaker stands, and studio furniture - when I'm not building guitars.

A note about shipping: these are seriously heavy. I have found I can ship three shelves in a U-haul flat screen TV shipping carton. This stays under the major carriers weight limits while providing the necessary protection for the product. But it's still a heavy package and an expensive box. So a 6-shelf system can be pricey to ship. depending where it needs to go.
