For sale is a nice Marantz SC-7 solid state preamp. Note that this is this is the older version of the SC-7, NOT the newer version that was made much more recently.
After performing some minor service on the power supply it now is working great. We also cleaned the pots and switches except for the sliders. It's generally always been our shop policy not to clean slide control pots unless they are noisy or intermittent which these are not. The reason for this is that the chemical that cleans the controls also can dilute the lubrication in the sliders and they no longer slide smoothly. Careful cleaning is only done when needed, not preemptively.
We tested it on our Sound Technology test panel and all works as it should. We also ran it on music for several hours and all works fine.
Multi voltage capable, 110, 120, 220 and 240 volt operation although we are offering for sale only in the USA and Canada. Cosmetically we'd give it a strong 7, maybe a 7.5 on the very strict Audiogon scale. Just minor scratches here and there. A copy (not original) of the owner's manual is included.
We pack with extra care and promise it will show up promptly and working as described initially. No long term guarantee beyond that. We've been at it since 1974 and try to only sell the good stuff!
FedEx, payment by PayPal only. If prepaid we offer safe curbside pickup in Central Berkeley or we'll deliver it within the city limits at no extra charge. Since we're a business we must collect 9.25% state sales tax from California buyers! Sales Tax for Californians is $71.69 above what Audiogon invoices you for.

so what was work you done to it. new power supply or what? Replaced some capacitors and two regulator transistors. With solid state units we tend to replace parts that are actually bad. We generally don't re-cap pieces unless the caps are bad or a type know to fail. I'd consider it a mid-level repair.
