McIntosh MX-112 Just Serviced 3/21...

Component History...

I purchased this MX-112 from the original owner some 12 years ago. Upon checking it when I first got it I  knew it was going to need some some Tech. TLC for sure. So recently I decided to have it Professionally Serviced as to pass it on to a fellow AudioPhile / McIntosh Enthusiast. 

I have had the component completely serviced by a gentleman who has been a 40 plus years  McIntosh Trained Professional Technician/Repair Expert in March 2021. I just got it back on March 14th.( please refer to the  photo of the service repair receipt in the ad ). 

As the Service Repair Invoice will show the gentleman left no stone unturned as to his thorough going over of this Vintage McIntosh Tuner / Preamplifier.

 From a complete Tuner Alignment to replacing Secondary Filter Caps as well as repair the Multiplex Circuits as well as aligned .  Replaced all deteriorated foam behind the front panel as well as behind the control knobs.The 6HU6 "Eye Tube" was replaced along with the Stereo Light. New LED Lights to illuminate the Dial Scale. A complete cleaning overhaul was performed and as the service invoice will show much more.  

* Note:

 Upon the completion of  the repair / cosmetic restoration of the MX-112 the gentleman who did the work played and tested all of the operational functions of the unit for Two Straight Weeks to make sure it was playing as the day it left the McIntosh Factory in Binghamton N.Y. 

If i might say this gentleman has the knowledge and passion and pride in his work as that of Mr. Terry Dewick !

 Operationally...

Once I hooked it up to in my system I was speechless . Being an "Underground McIntosh Collector" for many a decade now I have had a fare share of McIntosh Components with a number of them having been serviced as well. 

This MX-112 is now operationally and musically as good a McIntosh Tuner Preamplifier as I ever owned. Including separate McIntosh Tuner/ Preamplifier Components. 

* Cosmetically...

Is now a 8/10 component for its vintage . The glass was removed and professionally cleaned as well as the entire inside & outside. Deoxit D 100 was used on all the parts to be lubricated and checked. No pitting or rust anywhere the inputs have been cleaned and treated as well . the bottom interior black stencil along  the front glass has slightly faded which is common. No chips or cracks in the glass.
