For sale: DB Audio Labs Tranquility Signature Edition Non-Oversampling (NOS) Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) (220-volt model)

I'm selling my DB Audio Labs Tranquility SE DAC due to an upcoming move.  I rate it 8/10 to be conservative – the front, top and sides are in excellent condition, the DAC has been in a smoke free environment. It pairs with a Mac Mini and has a USB digital input and an RCA analog output.

This DAC is not new but perhaps that is the point. The heart of it is a non-oversampling (NOS) 16/44.1 DAC chip by Philips, the inventor of the CD format and some feel that NOS may be superior to more complex oversampling DACs for redbook CD. In the words of Eric Hider of DB Audio Labs:

“The precipice for us not offering a high rez dac sooner comes to the fact that high rez dac chips and filters DO NOT handle Redbook data nearly as elegantly as NOS dac chipsets that can have no filtering whatsoever. Redbook playback having more harmonic information correctly transferred with a simple 16 bit dac and no complex filtering seems something that has not been reported or recognized thus far. It is a technical fact with solid foundational basis none the less. SPDIF inputs also are not as elegant as USB (when USB is done correctly…which rarely happens mind you) for data transfer.”

I paid $2,185 for the DAC and the matching Signature USB cable.  For sale for $425, which includes a) the matching DB Audio Labs Essential USB cable and b) air shipping to the USA, Canada, UK, Western Europe and other markets with similar shipping cost.  I have the original box.

Please note the voltage is 220V
