Cary Audio SLP-98p

Cary Audio SLP-98p Tube Pre-Amp, thoroughly upgraded at the Cary factory in December 2019 with Mundorf and Solen capacitors, a new power supply, other goodies plus some minor repairs — which all-in cost me roughly $1,750 and it was so worth it (see pic of receipt). This is one sweet little pre-amp. Of course if you’ve read this far, you probably already knew that! Stereophile Class A rated. I am the original owner and it’s been lovingly cared for the past 20 years, it’s unblemished and then there’s all those recent major upgrades! This model is still sold new by Cary and virtually unchanged since its launch, with a retail price of just under $5,000 today (without upgrades, which would push it to $6,000+). This is the more expensive model that includes a phono input as well. The only reason why I’m selling it is because I am selling my house and downsizing to an apartment, replacing both units with an integrated amp. I have the original box and accompanying materials (see pic) and will double box for shipping. The original machined metal volume/mute remote is fully operational. Once we agree on a price, we’ll discuss the best shipping method and cost — I put in $75 as a placeholder. This is a Cary classic, in need of a home with a fellow music lover!
