Audio Research VT50. Serial Number 19198008. Amplifier is in excellent condition. Rated conservatively due to age and not being original owner.
I purchased this amplifier from a fellow member in May 2020. He had the amplifier sent to Audio Research for a check-up and input tube biasing about 4 years prior. I replaced the output tubes (Upscale Audio).
The VT50 is fairly rare to find used and you will not find one in better physical or operational condition. This amplifier runs is dead quiet. I am currently using it with Harbeth 7es3 speakers but it will drive Magnepan 1.7 speakers all day long without breaking a sweat. Because it uses 6922 input tubes it has a bit more organic, less analytical sound than Audio Research’s current amps that use the 6H30Pi. I’ve owned over 5 Audio Research amplifiers and this is my all time favorite. Only selling because we are down-sizing and I will no longer have a dedicated listening room. Therefore, I need to scale down the audio system.
Amp comes with original box, manual, documentation and certificate of authenticity. It has been doubled boxed and is ready to ship.
