Fresh off the repair bench from our in-house tech we have this Heathkit AA-151 integrated tube amplifier. The best thing I can say about this amp is this mid-range and highs are MIND MELTING. If you like singer-songwriter, folk, indie, jazz, blues, soul, etc. This amp will blow you away. It's like being in the room with the performer!
The bass is very solid as well. Punchy. Fast. Dynamic. But to be honest the extension is only middle of the road. Perhaps some tube rolling in the future could find better bass extension but I'll leave that up to the next owner.
Speaking of tubes, this amp features a NEW set of Mullard EL84 new production output tubes purchased and matched by Tube Depot. Other tubes are old-stock RCA and yellow-label Sylvania. Please note: pictures of open case were taken before Mullards were installed.
This amplifier has been fully recapped by our in house tech including all electrolytic and signal capacitors and resistors. A new 3-prong power cable has been installed, and the unit has been fully cleaned and biased. It is completely ready to plug-and-play and enjoy for years to come!
