Marantz 8b

Up on this listing is a properly working classic Marantz 8B tube power amp. It received ''mid level'' service in September 2021 that included: 4) New Electro Harmonix 6CA7/EL34 output tubes, 2) NOS RCA 6CG7 tubes. The 2) 6BH6 tubes of unknown brand tested great and were left in place. There is a copy the repair order (last picture in the group) done by a friend of the shop that documents in detail what was done.

When we got it back from service we ran it our test bench for several hours with no signs of any problems. Sounds great!

Cosmetically we'd give it a strong 7 on the rather strict Audiogon scale. Some minor pitting on the paint which you have to look closely to see. Viewing from a foot away you can't see any flaws. No rust, just ''pitting''. It's exceptionally clean for its age however if you're looking for that perfect, mint specimen of an 8B this isn't it!
