Mark Levinson No 336

This Mark Levinson 336 power amplifier has just been restored by Pyramid Audio Service, one of the 3 authorized Mark Levinson service centers in the US. 

This legendary amplifier is the top model of the 300 series by Mark Levinson. The 300 series is the last series from the Madrigal era of Mark Levinson, a period when they had built the highest respect for producing great amplifiers. After this series, Harman took over the brand.
The Mark Levinson 336 is the most powerful amplifier in the series. With two toroidal power supplies of 2650VA and a power of 350W at 8 Ohms, doubling to 700W at 4 Ohms and 1400W at 2 Ohms, this amplifier has no problem driving any loudspeaker. 
This amplifier produces a phenomenally beautiful sound. The naturalness of voices, the smoothness and effortlessness of the bass, the dynamics are of a level that even few of today's amplifiers can match.
There are some cosmetic blemishes on the heat sinks as shown in photos. 

The Restoration was required because the amp had DC offset in one channel and wouldn't come out of protection.  The Restoration followed all the procedures and part replacements to assure future reliability and best sound quality as determined by Mark Levinson.  This is a requirement of a Mark Levinson authorized service center. 
The Restoration includes 8 large power supply caps and many smaller caps and additional parts. The cost for this was $2353 inc freight.   So the amp will likely be good to go with great sound for another 20 years.  (service receipt attached)
