The LTA Preamplifier features a 127 step tactile volume control with a bright display, Remote control is included; RCA inputs and one XLR input with two RCA paired outputs. This unit was manufactured earlier this year (3/21). It has a low number of hours and includes the original matched pairs of tubes.
For those not in the know, this unit features transformerless tube technology that puts you very close to the sound. LTA products are not known for being extremely warm and "tubey" in the traditional sense, but offer instead a very clear and transparent sound.
I am currently only using one source (a DAC) and no longer need multiple inputs. Using headphones, this preamp delivered amazing sound quality. I just couldn’t justify using it only as a headphone amp when I could drive my amp with a digital volume control.
This unit came upgraded to the Level 2 spec but does not include the balanced input transformer upgrade. This upgrade can be performed by the manufacturer if desired.

| When I had one of these, I found that if you change the jumper from using 12SN7 to using a 6SN7 and then used NOS Military grade 6SN7’s; this unit then sounded wholly different; more than a dropper of warmth and texture that made it one of the best preamps ever. Can also use the PSVANE large bottle 6sn7 tubes now as well with top off or with the new top (optional) that has the larger holes to fit them. 6SN7 is far better than 12sn7.
What tubes does this come with. 12Xs7. Couldn’t easily remove smaller tubes; tubes are what LTA ships with |
