Ayre Acoustics QX-5 Twenty

Up for your consideration is an immaculate Digital Hub from Ayre. The QX-5 Twenty is Ayre’s statement digital offering to meet most of todays streaming and digital needs. This Digital “Hub” has enough inputs, 10 in total to accommodate just about anything.

The condition as an 9/10. Now a little bit about this piece of gear. First off there’s not a scratch of any kind on this unit. I’m the second owner who bought this updated unit on a whim because I had a beautiful idea of getting this exclusively for the headphone output. Overkill…yeah absolutely it’s Ayre. As things turn out I should of found a pair of headphones that I could wear longer than 20min. I borrowed one and demoed 2 other headphones. The sound was more than I ever expected but so was the utterly unbearable lack of comfort that I experienced. I took Possession on this on 9.27.21 and put about 7-8 hours on it. In that amount of time I found out a couple of things. The internal Ayre-conditioner filter and Linear power supply is outstanding. I threw 4 different power cables at it and the difference was negligible. The QX-5 Twenty is without a doubt a superb DAC on every level. It’s also extremely flexible with its 10 inputs.
