Black Cat Cable Coppertone USB Cable

The Black Cat Coppertone USB:  One (1) meter cable.  Purchased new in 2019. Gingerly used.  $175.

This USB cable has been in my Parasound system, connected to my DAC.  It is a mighty fine cable!    If you are not familiar with Black Cat cables, please see the website and reviews below.  The quality and value for your dollar is unmatched. I’ll note that this Coppertone pre-dates the “flatwave” version now offered.  But, so do the reviews below.  In other words, the wire I am listing here is the one folks were raving about when Black Cat was still making a name for itself.  Now, Black Cat is considered to be among the best audio cable companies in the US. 

The quality of the sound includes proportionate staging, full-bodied sound, and a timbre just slightly to the warm side of neutral.  In short, musical.  That is exactly what Black Cat is known for.

I think the cable works particularly well with Parasound equipment; but it would likely benefit any system by taking the inherently edgy sound of USB and warming it a bit and plumping it; and maintaining musical transparency while adding a small amount of natural warmth.

Jump on this cable while you can.  There are no more of this version; and what Black Cat now offers is becoming increasingly expensive.  (See for example, the new Black Cat “Graceline” series.)
