Rarely available and highly regarded. I feel this is the crowning achievement in Paul Marks exceptional products and was phenomenal in its original guise. I've read a review where the TA-3000 compelled Luke Manley to keep refining his flagship (7.5 preamp w/phono) several times until it could edge out Paul's creation. I've HIGHLY modified my Thor Audio TA3000 [all film caps replaced with teflon(V-caps and Solen tin foil versions), all resistors including all in the power supply replaced with Vishay bulk metal foil, all electrolytics replaced with fresh Panasonic (HF? FC?), voltage bridges replaced with Ixys hexfreds, RCAs are all WBT-0210AG, IEC replaced with Furutech FI-09 copper/gold plated, much wire has been replaced with mil spec spec silver plated copper teflon insulated]. Thus raising the bar several levels in both resolution and involvement capability. I've put some serious money and time into this baby, a real labor of love and it has paid off greatly in enjoyment, illumination and a deeper musical appreciation. There's over $1500 in V-caps alone (2x2.2uf & 2x1uf) in addition to more than that invested in Solen foil/Teflons. The good Vishays are the least colored passives we've heard so far with amazing transparency well worth their lofty premium in price. My friends and I put the topline silver WBTs, Furutech's large IEC and hexfreds for the bridge in everything we own always to great effect. Some past comments on the stock $6990 unit: "TA-3000 bought me closer than anything I had previously heard, save the Klyne System Seven phono preamp, to audio Nirvana. The Thor phono preamp was the first piece of Thor electronics I came to own and still consider it my most prized piece for what it does for my vinyl listening. What it does is allow vibrant living music to bloom with so much naturalness that it captivates my senses. This phenomenon was consistent with every line stage that I connected it to."-Stereo Times "The first obvious qualities that emerged from the TA-3000 were a large and exquisitely layered soundstage and an overall sense of superhero-dom in the area of dynamics. Many quality tube-based components do very well at the harmonic-structure thing and bring about a sense of body and palpability, something with which solid-state components have a harder time. Unfortunately, many of these same tube components can falter in the area of macrodynamics, sounding more polite and laid-back than realism would dictate. Not so with the Thor. It came through with those things tubes do so well, but was also a dynamic overachiever, with lightning-fast soft-to-loud transitions and incredible range between the silence and the peaks"-Soundstage! There are very fine scratches on the bottom inside 24k gold chimney finish and age prevent a 9 rating. MC version. This is the premium finish 24k gold with blue LEDs and has Thor Audio's footers (Black Diamond Racing Carbon Fiber which sounds much better than the original Audio Points Brass cones) Includes shipping and insurance with delivery signature Fedex ground and Paypal fees in the 48 states. Thanks for looking.

Questions for the seller
What is the voltage gain and how easy is to change MC loads? Thanks...
Manual states 78db for MC, Sensitivity is stated as .1mV, It uses Jensen JT-34K-DX step up transformers. To change the loading its resistors must be replaced (soldered). I recently loaded it for a Jan Alaerts MC2 Formula 1 which needs 845 ohms and 150pf capacitance. I used Nude Vishay resistors and Wima film foil polypropylene caps. Still wasn't enough output for the .15mV output cartridge.
