Linn Akurate DS Network streamer in silver (version 2)

In 2007, Linn made the decision to build machines to stream music rather than play Compact Discs.  They felt that streaming music not only sounded better, but was the way of the future!  Shortly thereafter, they discontinued all of their excellent CD players and dove headfirst into playing back high quality streaming music.   They were not only correct, as streaming took off in popularity and CD sales continue to dwindle, but have been a leader in building high quality music streamers ever since!     This machine is their second generation Akurate DS, (their second best model) built solely for streaming music.  It does not have any digital inputs, just a network cable jack for streaming music from Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, internet radio, your computer or NAS drive and other sources.  This version, being a bit older, does NOT have their new Katalyst circuitry, but is priced accordingly.   It's still a great sounding player and will play music with up to 24 bit resolution.   An excellent source, rivalling much more expensive CD players and streamers from other brands.  Has both single ended RCA outputs as well as balanced (XLR) outputs.  Will also play music streamed wirelessly from your Apple device using "Airplay".  An excellent buy now at about one fourth it's current retail price!  This unit does require an ethernet connection to your router and is controlled by the Linn app on your smart phone, tablet or computer.  Original box and packing and Linn remote is included.  Linn does NOT provide owner's manuals, as they rely on dealers to set up and demonstrate the product in your home. Rated an 8 but probably closer to a 9.
