The Shadow series cables were designed with flexibility and usability in mind. In some applications the micro-Silicates series is simply too big and heavy. That why we developed a new technology call MTA; Multi tunneling Architecture . This system allows power to travel inside the cable via multiple wires. Each wire carries a portion of the current. At the end of the cable, wires are recombined and distribute the power to the component.

DR Acoustics Shadow Series with MTA have a unique architecture using up to 12 conductors in one cable and benefit from a revolutionary shielding system call MSDS (Multiple Shields Dampening System ). This exclusive shielding system meets every requirement DR Acoustics had set in the design of a new line of products; Vibration noise Control and low caliber cable. In fact the Shadow power line cables have a concatenated AWG 8 for the Red Moon . In the Shadow series, Micro-silicate is replaced by the MSDS Technology. To implement Vibration control, the technology uses an ensemble of tinned cooper braided shielding to dampen the system. This architecture of 3 shields provides a blacker than black noise floor, a superb soundstage and of course an immense immunity to RF/EMI.

This unique Multi tunneling transport, with 12 paths for the current, creates an amazing stability because each wire carries a small portion of the energy reducing signal lost in heat. The MTA system offers superior quality and provides greater dynamics, resolution and detailed bass for all high-end audio installations. The Shadow Series core is composed of Multiple wires made of 99.99% pure copper. The cable can also be equipped with an optional 20-A connector.

The conductors are covered by a high-quality nylon jacket, forming a cable 20 mm in diameter. It is available in a standard length of 1.8 m. Custom lengths are also available. These cables are designed to be extremely flexible.

TECHNOLOGY

The American Wire Gauge (AWG) is a standardized scale for wire conductors. Most audiophile power cables use 10-gauge conductors. For every two-unit AWG decrease, the cable doubles in size. DR Acoustics Shadow series are the equivalent of 8 AWG . Almost twice as big as a standard 10-gauge cables (8 mm2 vs 5 mm2). This MTT cable allows for a significant reduction in electron collisions. These collisions or frictions cause a temperature increase in cables. The MTT cables create a sort of electron “multi-route “highway” that enables greater performance without heat generation .

DR Acoustics’ Shadow MTA and MSDS transmission techniques allows for an unmatched level of performance and a significant reduction in vibrations. The MSDS is composed of a combination of Braided shields used as a mechanical uncoupler in order to reduce electromechanical and electric noise generated by the passage of alternating current through the cable.
