Amperex Holland Bugle Boy 6DJ8 / ECC88 (6922 / E88CC / CCa family) brand pair of matched tubes in original crisp green and yellow boxes with small halo getters, Bugle Boy logos and pristine polished steel pins. This pair was produced in the Amperex Holland Herleen factory in the second week of May (Delta7E2) 1967. These are from the 2nd to last month of the Bugle Boy existence, by July of 1967 Amperex switched over to the orange globe lettering.
The 6DJ8 / ECC88 tube was invented by Amperex / Philips in the middle 1950's. The small halo Bugle Boy is the 3rd generation following the early 1960's large halo and late 1950's D-getter Bugle Boys. The small halo Bugle Boy combines the refinement, detail and midrange magic of the earlier Bugle Boys with increased impact, weight and bottom end, and is seen by most as the pinnacle of the 6DJ8 tube. Listen to the best 6DJ8 ever made, from the company and factory that invented them.
