Design:

The Burson Soloist SL MKII is a smaller version of Burson's award winning Soloist headphone amp with the same build and high quality.

Compared to the standard Soloist SL, the MK2 is 25% more powerful, It is very dynamic, yet with more refined mid and mid high. With an upgraded 2.5 Watts per channel into 16ohm, the Soloist SL MKII is one of the most powerful headphone amps in the world capable of driving the most difficult headphones to their fullest potential.

The custom 30VA transformer ensures the Soloist SL MKII is capable of a sustained 2 .5 watts at all times.

Just like the Soloist, the Soloist SL MKII is completely discrete in design. (IC free).

The Burson Soloist SL MKII features the same 21 component Field Effect Transistor input stage and the same discrete power supply network which brought popularity to the original. Assembled with the same high end components and operating in pure Class-A, the Soloist SL MKII carries an organic and transparent sonic signature.

The small size allows the Soloist MKII to sit nicely on any desktop.

Coupled with a 2 level gain switch, it offers infinite flexibility.

Build:

The Soloist SL MKII is housed in a refined and precision folded 3 mm aluminium casing that is unmistakably Burson. This case also works as a singular heat-sink for the entire machine ensuring stable and optimized performance at all times.

This case really puts the conventional 1 mm folded steel case and generic heat fins to shame.

Variable Output Stage:

The Soloist SL MKII features a Variable Output Stage (VOS) which enables the Soloist SL MKII to match well with any type of headphone. Be it easy to drive high sensitivity in ear monitors or open back moving-coil designs. It can drive anything including the latest planar magnetic headphones with ease.

Combining the VOS with high quality ALPS Potentiometer, volume control is always smooth and synergy is always perfect.

Output Supply:

The Soloist power supply is built around a custom noise-filtering network employing twice as many filtering stages as most conventional designs resulting in superior noise rejection. That’s why the Soloist SL delivers such clean and stable power with beautiful music emerging from a pitch-black background.
