Icon Audio HP8 Mk2 Tube Headphone Amp (Upgraded)

This ad is for an Icon Audio HP8 Mk2 Tube Headphone Amp in Excellent condition. The HP8 is prized by headphone listeners for astonishingly great sound on virtually every headphone. Operating in Class A as a pure triode, the HP8's CV181s deliver the sonic goods like nothing else. The HP8 offers great adjustability via a three position switch on the front, allowing it to quickly support a broad range of headphones (From 6 to 600 Ohms). The large, smooth volume control makes it easy to get a perfect setting. Chassis mount RCAs on the rear and a standard 15A IEC make adding audiophile touches like upgraded interconnects or power cords a breeze. The HP8 Mk2 even has a handy Mono switch on the front panel which makes listening to old Mono recordings even more fun.

Most Icon Audio HP8s feature the brown base CV181 tubes, but this one has upgraded white base David Shaw Signature CV181 output tubes (bought from the factory) which deliver superior sonics. The input tube has been upgraded to a Genalex Gold Lion 12AX7 for fantastic transparency and solid dynamic grip (stock tube is included, as well).
Unfortunately, around the same time I bought the HP8 I started traveling a bunch for work and I rarely ever get to use it. The tubes only have about 150 hrs of play time on them and the amp was never left on.
