I have a gently used Anthem AVM-20 pre-amp/processor for sale. This unit looks and functions great, I would rate it a 9 out of 10 solely for age. It sounds great! The only reason that I am selling is because I need hdmi. I have purchased a Denon avr-3312 to replace the Anthem. Honestly, if I didn't have a need for hdmi, I would most definitely keep the Anthem because it sounds better, much better, than my new Denon. The sound using the analog outs to my Pioneer bluray player, for playback of DDtruehd and DTS-MA is absolutely amazing! I connect my regular DVD player via the optical/coax outputs to the optical/coax inputs on the Anthem and the sound is fantastic! This unit also really shines when using 2 channel audio, better than any other pre-amp that I have ever heard. So needless to say, this pre-amp/processor is a world class unit, it sounds far better than ANY receiver on the market today, and, sounds better than ANY of the pre-amps/processors under $3,500.00. I have compared it to the Marantz 7005, the Integra 80.3, the Onkyo 5508, and even the new Rotel and B&k pre-amps (I can't remember the model #'s). I have done extensive listening on all of those and the Anthem sounds much better. I will advise you to get the best bluray player that you can afford to use via the analog outs into the analog in's of the Anthem. Either an Oppo BDP-83 and above, or a good Sony BDP-550 and above as this will provide you with sound that will top any of the above pre/pro's that I listed.
