The new and improved A'gon is not currently allowing me to respond to queries (indeed, it appears as if I have not been getting all of them) so please call 646.269.5074 if you have any questions...
Thanks,

Mike

Here is an original MP-1 that was sent back to the factory in 2005 for some upgrades/updates, most notably teflon caps and power supply regulator and was recently sent back in December to get some caps replaced in the PS. It has about 9 months remaining on the warranty, which is trasnferrable to the new owner. Ralph also performed some other update/tweak in December but wouldn't say what it was. After he replaced the caps he said it "sounds great." I concur. It is a mighty fine sounding unit, throwing as big a soundstage as you're likely to find and with amazing detail and tonal color. The bass is also rock-solid. The difference to my ear (as compared to my newer MkIII (currently at the factory getting some updates) is that this one is more "neutral" and less warm in tone, a little less saturated harmonically. With my Phy drivers (in open baffles) this was a perfect match-up (since the Phy's are on the warm side of the spectrum). My new speakers are more incisive and "neutral" themselves so I'm passing along this MP-1. It has phono section with mainly Chinese 12at7s as well as stock Chinese 6as7s in the linestage (not the Tung Sol roundpates as installed in the picture. Sorry!)

The black faceplates and knobs are from my newer MkIII so they are super clean and minty.

I have original packing and boxes.

Paypal marked "personal" or check or MO preferred. Local pick-up can come hear first, with your choice of speakers and amps.

Feel free to ask any questions, or submit any offers. Though, I think this is a great price and I probably won't budge, but you're welcome to ask!
Thanks,

Mike

You know there is no better linestage and phono out there for this kind of dough, right? ok, just checking...
You been considering a used Ayre K-1, right? Or maybe go whole hog for the pretty Allnic stuff? Maybe you got your linestage and been considering something like EAR 324, or maybe the maxxed out K&K phono? Fugghebaboutit...this thing will put you where you want to be. Front row, center stage. Promise! Yes, I've tried all the above and then some.
I'll include a few vishay dale resistors for phono as well.
