Audio Aero Capitole Classic SE

The Audio Aero Capitole CD player has been consistently rated with the best CD players in the world since it was introduced in 1999. The Capitole is a 192/24 upsampling player that uses Anagram technology plus Audio Aero's patented and exclusive STARS upsampling/resampling process that puts it head and shoulders above other players. They were using 6021w subminiature tubes in the output section long before it became fashionable with cheap imitators.
Audio Aero built their reputation through performance at Consumer and Trade shows and the endorsement of people in the industry who heard and bought them for their own use, not through paid-for reviews in big glossy magazines.

The Capitole Classic is strictly a CD player, as opposed to the Capitole Reference, which has preamp abilities. It offers both single-ended and balanced outputs and a single Digital Out, as well as a USB input in case of software updates. This one carries the "Signature Edition" nameplate, which means it has the upgraded cryo'd tubes and Sonicap Platinum capacitors mounted on Symposium pads. You can see that in one of the photos provided.
The Capitole is so effective in its abilities to bring out detail and musicality that it sounds better playing Redbook CDs than all but the most expensive SACD players reading the same music on an SACD layer.

This Capitole Classic, in black, is in excellent cosmetic and operational condition. The tubes are conservatively rated at 40,000 hours without cryogenic treatment, so these cryo'd tubes are good for many years to come. Having said that I'm still including a new pair as spares should you ever need them.
