CROWN CX-844 - best known example in the World
Crown CX-844 with dbx Type I (optional use), two
TRAC-SYNC, counter, Crown international Power Converter (use Internationally in the Desert, a high-rise in China or Europe/Russia), custom case, remote,
hubs, ten (10) "precision" large metal reels in
archival cases, all original Operation and Maintenance manuals.
Impeccably restored and upgraded by the last two Crown
experts in the world. Never used since restoration other than to put in my gun
case and test connections with smaller 7" reels. Can handle 8 inputs at a
time without mixing board. Used by greatest rock bands and for live concert recordings for a real quadraphonic listening experience, no fake matrix.
Should be in a home/studio next to a Grammy of one who
appreciates the best.
Luxurious and timeless natural sound. Will be custom
configured to your tape formula or several may be suggested upon request. New
great tape is available.
Basic unit cost $3,000.00 fifty years ago. This one has all
known options plus dbx Type I. Complete history as to when it was made, what
options, to whom sold, etc. available from the records of one of the restorers
who was Crown’s Sales Manager.
If you want the most beautiful and fully functioning 4-channel
Crown CX-844 this is it. Even if you don't use it, it's one fine exhibit of
your taste to go along with your high-end system - recording art.
I will work to assist in pick-up anywhere in the southeast
United States or you can send someone for it.
Actual pick-up will probably be less expensive and much safer if you
hire someone or come yourself. To ship
it would take at least 7 large boxes from a professional shipper, costs of
shipping and insurance.
$12,000.00 ... no haggling please. It's worth it and more.
P.S. Also, have the best CX-822 customized and restored by
the same folks. That half-track is configured to be a "portable"
recording studio to take to clubs with 4 separate inputs/mics or used as a
Mastering Deck from a mixing board. See Review below:
