Audio Research SP11 MKII

This is the SP11 MKII version. It is in two parts, the control center and separate power supply. This pre amp sold for an astounding $5995.00 back in 1987!!! Wow could you imagine what something like this would sell for new today! I never thought I would ever part with this highly sought after pre amp. I wish I could keep this, but I need to fund a new pre amp that is more up to date to match the rest of my system. I rated this an 8 even though I can't find any scratches or dents anywhere worth mentioning. This pre amp comes with 6 NOS Amperex 6dj8 Bugle Boy tubes made in the Harleen Holland plant that perform flawlessly and are extremely quite. My speakers are Klipshorns rated at 104 db efficiancy and are DEAD quiet with this pre amp! Now the best part, I just got this back from Audio Research where they did a complete service, so this piece is good to go for many years of enjoyment! While it was there, I had them alter the impedance values to more realistic cartridge matching. The 47k setting is unchanged for MM cartridges. All the other settings have a 0 added to the values shown on the dial so now the settings are 47k, 1000, 300, 100 and 30. This piece is in unbelievable condition for it’s age. All original packaging and new outer boxes (Audio Research usually always does this when you send them any piece for servicing) with the correct serial numbers on them are included as well as the manual and other documents and pamphlets I collected over the years. You won’t be disappointed in this one. This will ship in 2 boxes. The tubes will be removed from there sockets and placed in foam (supplied from Audio Research) and put under the cover of the control piece. Please take note that Audio Research labeled each tube for a corisponding labeled socket. As with all vintage electronics, this will be sold as is with no returns.
