Audio Research V140 Mono Block Amplifier (x2)

Rarely found on AudiogoN a pair of of the V140 mono's from Audio Research.

Using a Triode Operation the V series incorporate a fully balanced input stage to minimize noise and distortion. The input stage uses select J-FET Transistor with MOSFET Followers to provide ultra-quite low-impedance drive to the 6FQ7 Dual Triodes, which directly drive the output tubes. This V Amplifier comes with the Matched selected KT90 Output tubes that say audio research on them (You can use 6550's 6500A, KT88's o KT100's)

Partial cathode- coupling and highly advanced "E-Core" output transformers yield an effective power bandwidth of 10Hz - 80kHz. Audio Research Patented D.E.C (Decoupled Electrolytic Capacitor) circuit and the latest coaxial capacitors are used to further enhance the performance of these remarkable amplifiers.

The Amplifiers incorporate a unique "soft" Start-up and shut down modes to help prevent life shortening current surges from reaching the output tubes, At turn on a 30 second delay allows the output tube heaters to rise to proper operating temperatures and lets the bias supply voltage stabilize. The V140's use internal fan cooling to maintain low operating temperatures.

Power output 120 Watts minimum continuouus at 16 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz with less than 1.0% total harmonic distortion (typical below .005% at 1 watt) Approximate actual power available at "clipping": 125 watts (1kHz)

Tested in our store for integrity and functionally, everything works perfectly.

8/10 rating because of a scratch on top of (not front face plate) of one of the amps. As shown in the pictures. (If you can't see it, thats because it's hard to notice)
