Before you jump to the conclusion that this VT-200 is priced to high, please read below.

This VT-200 is for the customer who wants the savings of buying a used high power tube amplifier, while minimizing his chance of service problems and maximizing his immediate sound quality. This amplifier was very recently completely re-tubed at Audio Research with genuine ARC spec'd tubes. It was tested and inspected by them before shipping back to our store, so it not only works properly, but meets ARC specifications for performance. In short, it needs nothing (documentation on request). It has been taken out of the packing solely to photograph. It has zero hours of playing time on the new tubes. A complete new set of VT-200 tubes and dampers through Audio Research sells for $1920.00. Round trip shipping and labor for the re-tube and inspection was $600.00. Audiogon's bluebook shows the average selling price of a VT-200 to be $3430.00. These will have worn out tubes that can damage the amplifier and or your speakers if you continue to operate it. If you bought an average VT-200 and re-tubed it, you would have over $5300 in it with out the benefit of ARC's inspection. $4500 looks pretty good doesn't it?

We sold this amplifier originally and have the original box and packing.
