AYRE MX-R Monobloc Amps (Silver)

Ayre’s MX-R monobloc amps are unquestionably among the world's very finest. Serial nos. 14C0161 and 14C0162.

These beautiful amps are in perfect condition. No flaws of any kind, cosmetically or operationally. No scratches or blemishes anywhere. They sound fantastic! Powerful, but incredibly clean and fast. Includes the original boxes, owner’s manual, packing materials (including the beautiful velour protective bags), etc. Also includes a custom-made power trigger cable that allows you to trigger the MX-Rs on and off by connecting them to a standard 12V mini-RCA switched outlet on most preamps (it has the mini-RCA plug on one end and a RJ-11 plug on the other end which connects to a MX-R).

These amps were purchased new in early 2008. I am the second owner, having purchased them from the original owner on Audiogon on 2/24/2009. They have received almost no use from me since I bought them (no more than 150 hours- I know this because my preamp records hours of use).

Ayre's warranty is for 5 years and it is TRANSFERABLE (most high end companies' warranties are not transferable, so Ayre is fairly unique here). You will have the remainder of the 5 year factory warranty (to early 2013).

I sent them to Ayre in 12/2010 to have a firmware update and a full checkup. Ayre replaced all output devices in both amps, saying that the earlier ones they used had some problems which have been fixed with the latest output devices, with which they’ve had zero problems. So, you’ll have the very latest output devices; same as the ones they use today.

I’m selling because I’ve decided to go with tubes.
