B&W 805 Matrix (horizontal model) Loudspeakers

For sale is my pair of B&W 805 Matrix loudspeakers in the hard to find Horizontal configuration. These speakers look and sound fantastic but I just don't have the proper power to drive them effectively. As most folks know, these little beasts need (and love) lots of clean power. There are a couple of small dings/scratches in the cabinet edges and one rear corner is mashed a little (see pics). Otherwise, the cabinets, grilles, tweeter housings and terminal cups are in fantastic shape. Rated 7 of 10 to be conservative. Serial numbers are 527 and 528.

I was running this 805 Matrix pair biamped with a pair of Conrad Johnson built Motif MS-100 amps (one MS-100 stereo amp driving the tweeters and the other MS-100 stereo amp driving the mid-bass dirvers). The MS-100 is rated at 100w/ch into 8ohms and 200w/ch into 4ohms. The 805 Matrix is a nominal 8ohm load that can dip close to 4ohm. Though the Motif amps could drive the 805's nicely, the 805's would be happier with about double the power.

These little speakers have jaw dropping accuracy, imaging and clarity. I am constantly amazed at the quality and quantity of bass that these little guys produce whether it be symphonic pieces, rock and roll or electronic type program material.

Shipping will be per UPS website estimated charges for Ground delivery/insured for selling price and paid by the buyer based on two parcels at 26lbs each from 81620. The speakers will be packaged very well with thick, foam sheeting custom fitted to prevent damage to cabinets and outboard tweeters and heavy duty double wall boxes (two total boxes) to insure they arrive safely in the same condition they left here.
