Belles Research - Gala Sound - Soundwave Symphony 1 (David Belles) Preamp – Original Owner with box - USA
This is my Belles Research Corporation solid state preamplifier (design by David Belles), later of OCM Technology (Magnum Dynalab) and currently of Belles Power Modules. This great neutral sounding preamp is Made in the USA, hand built near Rochester, NY. I purchased this new at Gala Sound in Rochester, NY and still have my original receipt. It was marketed under Soundwave with James Gala at Gala Sound in Rochester, NY. Jim was the designer of the well regarded Soundwave Soliloquy Loudspeakers and did a lot of co-marketing and had design inputs with David Belles. As with many of David’s amp/preamp products, this is another brilliant, extremely well built, straightforward design. This one uses an external power supply. It’s also ideal for Vinyl lovers looking for a preamp without the need for a separate phono pre-amp and still need support for MC/MM cartridges since the dip switches can be changed to support them both. I have the original dip switch diagram from David. I bought the Belles pre-amp to match with my Belles Research Soundwave Symphony 4 MOSFET Amplifier recently sold on Audiogon. Please see my feedback from that amazing Belles Amp. I conservatively rated this a 7, but it's closer to an 8 - just a couple marks on top shown in the pictures, but works perfect. Plenty of RCA inputs as you can see from the back. A great preamp at a fantastic price..
The pre-amp comes with the original box and packing materials. Even included is the original Belles Research warranty card (expired of course) for historical completeness. This will be double boxed to protect the original and ensure its safety. This is a really nice high quality audiophile piece for a tiny price. If paying by Paypal, please kindly add 3.5%. Any questions, please just e-mail. Thank you for looking.
