David Belles Symphony/Soundwave 4 MOSFET Power Amplifier – Made in the USA NOTE: AMP IS SOLD. I am the original owner of this well cared for Belles Research Corporation (Gala Sound) Soundwave Symphony 4 Power Amplifier (now Power Modules Inc.). I purchased it new from James Gala at Gala Sound in Rochester, New York (Home of Belles Research). The amplifier is a David Belles MOSFET Amplifier that was co-marketed under the James Gala badge. Gala Sound was the premier high end audio store in Rochester, NY. I have the original box, packing material, original receipts and a copy of the data sheet. This is a massive high quality handmade stereo amp as only David Belles can make. If you call David he'll know this as "the big one". It was his top model at that time. With a 1500 VA Toridal transformer, 16 super linear power MOSFET output transistors, all van den Hull mono crystal wire in signal path and gold plated Tiffany Connectors with fully complementary symmetrical drive circuitry. I originally had it set up for 220V when I lived in Europe but had David service it and convert it a number of years ago to 110V when I moved back along with my Belles Pre-amp also for sale. I have the receipt from David for that as well when he owned OCM Technology. The pre-amp and amp are a perfect match. (Currently I use this as a ~2/3rd audiophile system in my house with only occasional use. I'm using Krell mono block amps in my main system but this Belles kicks butt! I am very meticulous and even keep original purchase receipts. This amp will drive just about anything even very inefficient speakers. I originally used it for a number of years to drive my KEF 105s and later my Martin Login Monolith IIIs. I now have B&W 802s. The outer wood on one corner on the back was slightly damaged due to a rub trying to lift this monster out of a cabinet, but it is only cosmetic. The panels are machine screwed onto the chassis. I would love to find a good home for this wonderful sounding amp. As mentioned I have the original shipping box, but will double box it to ensure it is well packed. I have the original data sheet from Jim and David as well which seems a lot of people have been looking for or can't find. Just some of the specs are below: Rated Power: 200 watts into 8 Ohms , 400 watts into 4 ohms, both channels driven driven simultaneously from 20-20,000 Hz. Minimum continuous power before waveform clipping: 300 watts into 8 ohms, 500 watts into 4 ohms Peak Amperage: Over 100 Amperes Distortion: Less than 1% THD and IM distortion at rated power. Resistors: All + or 1% metal film resistors in signal path Amp measures: ~13wx17hx12h inches Feel free to see the feedback on the other items I have sold and contact me if you have any questions.
