Bent Audio TAP TVC Passive Magnetic Preamp

Bent Audio TAP TVC passive preamp for sale by original owner. These very rarely show up on the used market.

This TAP is the fully loaded model (built around the Stevens & Billington TX102), with 6 inputs (four RCA, 2 balanced XLR), any of which can be configured to 'bypass' for home theater use, and four stereo outputs (2 RCA, 2 balanced XLR), plus another set of tape outs (RCA). This is in contrast to the later autoformer units that did not offer this extensive array of unbalanced/balanced inputs and outputs.

This ingeniously designed, incredibly flexible TVC performs the following functions:

1. True XLR to RCA conversion
2. True RCA to XLR conversion
3. Absolute Phase Inversion
4. Up to +6db of Gain
5. Break ground loops if needed

Relays handle all switching functions, which include input selection and volume. The power drawn from the wall is limited to the display, the relays, and the remote control functions. There is no power in the signal path.

The included remote operates level, balance, input selection, phase, mute and display mode (either “constantly on” or “on for a short time after changing a setting before turning off automatically”). The front panel duplicates these functions.

This gently used, supremely well-cared-for TAP will ship in its original box, with another around it for added protection.
