I bought this silver colored unit new from a dealer in June 2010. It's seen very light use and looks like new. I'm selling it to free up some money for a project I'm working on. If you life in SF Bay Area you're welcome to pick it up at my place, or I'm happy to ship it to you insured at cost using Fedex or UPS. It comes with the original manual, remote and power chord but no box.

Quote from Computer Audiophile review:"At $5,000 the Alpha DAC is a high-end audio bargain. This level of quality and features could honestly sell for twice or three times the price."

I'm also selling a pair of $500 Straightwire Serenade XLR cables, and would be willing to sell both items together at a discount.

To make sure you know what you're buying, I've done a very thorough inspection:
- The remote has a barely visible dent in it that you (might) be able to locate on the attached picture.
- The enclosure of the device itself has no scratches or dents. It looks like it just came out of the box, except for a tiny charcoal like stroke that is maybe 2mm long. It is quite hard to see, but if you look closely on the zoomed in photo between the SPDIF and Toslink text about 5mm from the bottom edge of the device you should be able to see what I'm talking about.
- The unit number is 1391; I have confirmed with Berkeley audio that a) this is revision 1, not revision 2, b) it's not upgradeable, and c) it's running the latest firmware

I'm doing $2900 or best offer. If you live in the Bay Area that makes things easy - then we can do the transaction in person.

Questions for the seller
Hi Marcus, I have one other question for you. Would you be able to give me the Serial Number of the unit so I can check this with Berkeley? Regards, Don
No problem, the serial is #1391 - cheers!
