"Hector Berlioz[1] (December 11, 1803 – March 8, 1869) was a French Romantic composer, best known for his compositions Symphonie fantastique and Grande messe des morts (Requiem). Berlioz made significant contributions to the modern orchestra with his Treatise on Instrumentation. He specified huge orchestral forces for some of his works; as a conductor, he performed several concerts with more than 1,000 musicians.[2] He also composed around 50 songs. His influence was critical for the further development of Romanticism, especially in composers like Richard Wagner, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Franz Liszt, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler and many others." - Wikipedia

An outstanding recording. The sound is very delicate yet detailed and dynamic. Plenty of micro-detail - you can hear even the Triangle clearly during loud passages. Instruments are easily distinguishable from one another and their location and 'space' is highly defined. The Bass is deep and has detail, mids are lush and the treble is open and transparent.
Surface noise consists of mostly low-level 'crackles' and the occasional 'tick' - most of which are barely audible.

Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
