This Blue Angel "The Mantis" cartridge has very low hours. I would estimate between 75 to 110.
The cartridge is remarkable sounding with great body, musicality and dynamics.
A handmade moving coil cartridge from South Africa thats sweet, clean and dressed to impress.Tracking ability was fine, its output no problem. Stereo width? Side to side in Cinerama glory.
It handled the thwacks of Dave Clarks drums with a mass that came damned close to Decca-like in its authority.

It did have a coherent, enticing, harmonically refined sound that produced a silky, smooth, continuous, ultimately addictive midband, and an overall effortlessness and transparency that pleased over the long term. The bottom end sounded more like tubes than solid state, and was better at reproducing subtle bass textures than ultimate weight. In that regard it reminded me of the $8000 Clearaudio Goldfinger that I wrote about in October.
