"John Wesley Harding suggested country with its textures and structures, but Nashville Skyline was a full-fledged country album, complete with steel guitars and brief, direct songs. It's a warm, friendly album, particularly since Bob Dylan is singing in a previously unheard gentle croon ó the sound of his voice is so different it may be disarming upon first listen, but it suits the songs. While there are a handful of lightweight numbers on the record, at its core are several excellent songs ó "Lay Lady Lay," "To Be Alone With You," "I Threw It All Away," "Tonight I'll Be Staying Here With You," as well as a duet with Johnny Cash on "Girl From the North Country" ó that have become country-rock standards. And there's no discounting that Nashville Skyline, arriving in the spring of 1969, established country-rock as a vital force in pop music, as well as a commercially viable genre." - AMG.

"And those who are usually turned off by Dylan's nasal whine of a voice should pick up this album right away...he delivers in a much gentler, softer voice, almost a baritone, employing a little bit of the technique of an opera singer to produce a pleasant low croon which threw many listeners for a loop (and enhanced Dylan's appeal to the masses)." - Popsike.

This is a 2 sided Hot Stamper.

The LP plays/sounds Mint++.

Side 1 is full and warm - unlike so many of his nasal sounding recordings. His voice is incredibly detailed and each nuance of every phrase becomes immediately obvious. Side 2 steps it up another notch or two. This time some of the warmth of his voice is diminished to more neutral but the level of detail on the instruments is greatly increased. One of the most impressive Dylan Lp's I've heard.
Surface noise consists of mainly of low-level 'ticks' between tracks on side 1 and 2 and very faint, almost inaudible 'ticks' on the 1st track on Side 2.

Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
