If you are checking this ad you know this is one of the best cartridges ever made.  Output 0.18mV, recommended loading 850 ohms, tracking 1.8g.   This one has about 300 hours on it, and the diamond and cantilever are perfect under my microscope (sorry, I can't photograph through the scope).   It has been pampered and carefully used, never overweighted or cleaned with fluids, in short, it's like a new one except I have to rate it 8/10 for the hours and age (several years, most of them boxed as a backup).

Questions for the seller
Hello, I'm interested in purchasing the MC2. I'm currently using a Boron MC1 and have been looking to upgrade. I have several questions as follows. When was this purchased and from where? What was your cartridge of choice if this was a backup? I'm in Burnaby, BC, Canada...shipping is not a problem. Does it come with any kind of certification? Thanks, Anand. Email: [email protected], 604-537-8927.
I am the original owner. I purchased it from the original North America importer - Audio Advancements. It was a backup because I owned 3 of them. I can ship to Canada for the asking price, but import duties are yours to deal with. I don't like to lie on the customs declarations. If I insure it for the actual selling price it will have to go FedEx international, and it will cost me quite a bit to ship. The USPS won't insure for that much value. Thanks for your interest.
Thank you for your response. Do you still have the original receipt from Audio Advancements? I have no issues with full customs declaration. Shipping by FedEx is not expensive for such a small package but we can talk about that later together with insurance. My main concern is that I would be buying a used cartridge, paying 12% duty on it and not having any real assurance that it is as you claim except your word. Let me think about it.
Sorry, receipt is long gone. You can give Hart a call at Audio Advancements if you have questions, but this is the nature of buying a used cartridge that is several years old. You need to know that the previous owner is careful, competent, and honest, and that's the best any of us can do in this hobby if we are not buying new
My current set up is with the Reed 2A 12" tonearm using the Boron I as I mentioned earlier on a Shindo Garrard 301 through the Thoress phono enhancer. WE 124B vintage mono blocks, Shindo Giscours preamp, vintage Tannoy Silver 15" GRF corner cabs. I really like the Boron 1, my goal was to get the MC2 Finish rather than the Formula 1 as I heard it's a lot more finicky than the others. I'm willing to take a chance. Would you however consider shipping it back to Jan for an all OK? It would be a no-brainer sale in that case whether sold to me or not although I'd certainly take it on that condition. Anand.
Do you mean that you would pay me first and then I would send the F1 to Jan to check and forward to you? Jan usually takes several months to service a cartridge ((had that done once), so this is not a good idea IMO.
