Lyra Helikon Cartridge [Expired]

no longer for sale

For sale is used and retipped LYRA Helikon MC Cartridge. Retipping was professionally made by famous US Comany - SoundSmith. 100% working, sonically - excellent, retipped version easily outperforms Lyra Delos. Soundstage is wider and deeper, bass is more detailed. 2 hours of using after retipping - just for the test. LYRA's best known cartridge, the Helikon is Jonathan Carr's fourth generation Moving Coil design. Featuring enhancements to the earlier pole-piece-less designs with twin disc magnets eliminating as much conductive material as possible from the vicinity of the generator and gap, the Helikon has practically zero non-functional material in the vicinity of the generator coils. One of the hardest aircraft grade alloys available is used for the main structure, ensuring maximum rigidity and allowing for fanatical machining precision. The surface is spray painted and finally lacquered with a clear finish for long-life. The cantilever assembly is mechanically connected to the main one-piece structure of the cartridge, so the rear section of the cantilever assembly extends deep into the body/mechanical grounding structure itself and is anchored securely in place with a bolt. Yoshinori Mishima personally assembles, adjusts, and voices each cartridge for an exuberant and elegant sound that is full of life and energy. As all Helikons are hand-made by one person; sample-to-sample variation is minimized. The Helikon has a strong fan base with close to 5000 in use around the world. To create a high level of energy into the majority of Moving Coil capable phono stages - including tube stages - the Helikon's coils have two layers of windings for 0.5 mV output while still presenting a low 5.5 ohm impedance. Specifications for LYRA HELIKON Frequency range : 10Hz - 50 kHz Cantilever system : Retipped, See below Channel separation : 35 dB or better at 1kHz Internal impedance : 5.5 ohms Output voltage : 0.5 mV (5.0cm/sec., zero to peak, 45 degrees) Cartridge weight (without stylus cover) : 8.3 g Compliance : Approx. 12 x 10-6 cm/dyne at 100Hz Centerline through mounting holes to stylus tip : 7.8 mm Recommended tracking force : 1.6 - 1.75 g Recommended impedance : 100 ohms to 47 kohms Manual and accessories set included. Here is what SoundSmith said regarding retipping - "...With exacting care to angular positioning, we install a Ruby Single Crystal cantilever which holds a Nude "Contact Line" diamond, one of the most sophisticated stylus/cantilever assemblies ever made. This combination creates an ultra low mass system, capable of the finest reproduction from your cherished vinyl. The Contact Line Diamond has three times the contact area in the vertical direction of the groove wall compared to an elliptical shaped diamond. This lowers the force per unit area on both the diamond and the record groove, resulting in lower record and diamond wear..." The retipping price was $350 + shipping. Lyra Helikon retail price was ~$1650 (new) Original box is missed, I will ship in Denon plastic case. Manual and set of accessories will be included.
