Here I am offering a perfect condition and sounding Ortofon MC 2000. This comes from the estate of a very prominent audiophile who was in the High End audio business over 35 years. What you see in the pics is what you get. It has been rebuilt by A.J. Van Den Hul who was a colleague and friend of my friend who passed.
When we sent our cartridges, various Orotofons, Dynavectors, etc... to A.J. they got special treatment and always came back better sounding than before they left. With Ortofons generally the detail improved without losing the trademark beautiful sound inherent in them. I was lucky to have a few of mine rebuilt by him as well. Van Den Hul fees were at least $550 for this type of cantilever and stylus upgrade and up to $1200 depending on what was done all in all. This has low hours as not only were there around 50 cartridges in my friend's collection many were not even played and sat on shelves (like this one) mainly because he had other cartridges he preferred. In this case he played his rebuilt MC7500 over this cartridge. The headshell seems to have some white corrosion on the threads and one would want to drill the hole out straight through to use cartridge screws better. There is the spec sheet and mini brochure, part of the scale, the headshell and the wonderful upgraded cartridge. The sound of this cartridge is well above the asking price and I honestly would keep it but I already have 4 equally good or better cartridges and just can't justify it right now. As an estate item, sold as is, no refunds or exchanges. I do have video of it working properly for reference.
