This is an audiophile quality unit. Only reason for the 7/10 is the age. Looks and works fine. This is a high end 192/24 bit Digital to Analog converter with HDCD Decoding. Digital sample rates are 44.1 khz to 768 khz so you can upsample source. Due to built in tube output stage, allows selection of tube or solid state sound. Never had any problem with the unit and it has been in my system since purchasing new. CD/DVD Audio, CD-R, CD-CW HDCD decoding. (2) Burr Brown PCM1792U. Always sounded sweet.
