Or plug external components into the back-panel or front-panel inputs — digital record level control lets you tweak song-to-song volumes as you burn perfect compilation discs from virtually any audio source.

But perhaps most exciting of all, the CDR 30 is ready to please Internet audio fans with built-in MP3 decoding! Finally, here's a CD-R/W deck for your home A/V system that will also play your MP3 CDs (and display MP3 text!), or let you decode and record MP3 CD tracks to a standard audio CD-R. Note: Component CD recorders let you record to CD-R (write-once recordable CD) discs or CD-RWs (rewritable CDs), for playback in almost all newer home, car and portable CD players and changers. (Check your specific model of CD player for disc compatibility.) Remember: Blank computer CDs are not compatible with audio CD recorders, so be sure to use blank audio discs (the logo on the disc's packaging must include the words "Digital Audio").
