McIntosh MCD-1000 CD Transport/DAC

Here we have our beloved McIntosh MCD1000 / MDA1000 combo!!!!  We probably should have sold this pair off long ago but we simply couldn't.  They have served as our demo's for years and done so admirably.  There are those of us who believe this combo to be among the absolute best products McIntosh has ever put out.  Just try to pick one of these babies up and you'll get a sense of the build quality.  Then plug them in and press the open/close button on the transport and the tray slides out smoother than any other CD player I've ever seen.  This set just screams high quality.  Actually, that sort of sums up what McIntosh is all about.  While other manufacturers are moving manufacture facilities over seas to keep cost down McIntosh is still made in the USA.  The same good people in Binghampton, New York have been making McIntosh products since.... well, forever.

The MCD1000 has no built in DAC, thus the need for the MDA1000.  A volume control and outputs would allow you to connect the MDA1000 directly to your amplifiers, but for the best performance it should be used as a DAC for the MCD1000 and use the outputs to connect to your preamp.  

Go ahead and try to find anything but glowing reviews for these beauties online.  Everyone loves this combo!!

Cosmetically there are some smudges on the top of one of the units from the feet of the other.  There are also some tiny scratches on the top metal trim piece.  I've tried to picture these as best I could.  

Unfortunately, we managed to misplace the original remote controls for this pair.  You should be able to program a universal remote without much expense or difficulty or integrate them into a control system.  We also do not have 100% of the original packaging.  But we will absolutely pack them with care using other McIntosh packaging for safe shipping.  

We will entertain the idea of separating the two if needed.
