The Verdi Encore plays CDs perfectly and the two S/PDIF inputs work perfectly. The optional upsampling of 44.1kHz (CD or S/PDIF inputs) to DSD also works perfectly. However, it will not reliably play SACDs. Both units were bought by me from authorized dealers. Used in a smoke/pet/child-free environment. In original manufacturer's packaging with remote & manuals.
