Since Esoteric stopped shipping their SACD transport mechanism, DCS can't manufacture Puccini anymore. DCS released Rossini last year to replace Puccini but Rossini does not play SACD. So except for the So unless you are willing to go with Vivaldi, Puccini offers the rare opportunity to have truly high-end player which takes advantage of legendary Ring DAC. At the offer price, I will include 30+ classical music SACD discs so that you can enjoy the full capability Puccini offers.

That said, Puccini outshines when playing Redbook CD. Also it does an excellent job when playing Hi-Res files through its coaxial digital input. I was using Audiophilleo DD converter to enjoy streaming music through USB connection but you could also go with Puccini clock (not included in the listing).

Conditions and Software versions

I will give conservative 8/10 rating due to the fact that I am a second owner. DCS America upgraded firmware and replaced SACD transport mechanism in April 2015. So the unit is functionally pristine and up to date condition.

The reason I am selling

I am selling the unit because I decided to downsize my system and move on to LINN eco-system (using Klimax DS/2) completely for the convenience as I have more than 2000 CDs ripped and stored in NAS.
