The 9000ES has a fully copper-plated chassis, with separate audio and video circuit boards that gives you the ability to disable the video circuitry completely for SACD and CD playback ("Audio Direct" mode). This sucker weighs in at 28 lbs.!
Only ever used this for 2 channel audio, so I can't comment on the video performance (which is pretty dated by today's standards).
It has two audio master clocks, digital optical (toslink) and coaxial output.
The digital signal path was optimized for SACD, and does not convert the pure bitstream DSD/SACD signal to PCM.
Enhanced digital filtration via two digital audio filtering modes: “Slow” and “Sharp.” The manual states that this filters noises above 22.05 kHz (Fs is 44.1 kHz), 24 kHz (Fs is 48 kHz) or 48 kHz (Fs is above 96 kHz). Filter has no affect on SACD playback.
