Sony NS-900v modified sacd/cd player

This was a stand out dvd/sacd/cd player in its day. About 15 yrs ago I believe. Rave reviews and chosen as a top candidate for a TRL mod package. The usual $750. worth of who knows what. Usually power supply upgrades etc. They will never reveal their secrets. It required removing the video functions, and does not function as a dvd now. Because of that, the remote doesn't allow you to shift to the sacd layer anymore. CD is the default layer the player chooses on a hybrid
The sacd indicator light only comes on when a single layer sacd is used. It does of course play the cd layer on a hybrid very well.
Bottom line is an excellent performing modded cd player that also plays single layer sacd's very well. It would work well with a large classical collection, which seem to come in single layer sacd discs much more often than hybrids.

Ive got $1500. into it. In spite of the age, as you can see by the photos, it has been a low use unit overall in my headphone station. It sounds good enough to have fooled me for quite awhile. But I have alot of hybrids. It looks and is clean. No pets or smoking in a very clean home. 7/10 due to age.
