PLEASE NOTE I HAVE RECEIVED OFFERS ON THIS UNIT WHICH I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESPOND TO, POSSIBLY BECAUSE OF A SOFTWARE ISSUE. IF YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE BIDDERS PLEASE TRY AGAIN. THANKS
Original owner. Legendary gate array technology is unsurpassed in quality, musicality, detail... and also a glorious piece of hifi jewellery as its sits glowing quietly on your rack!
Solid aluminium billet, polished glass fish-eye lens revealing the electronics inside...switchable 0-3 second buffering and re-clocking of signal... 16 & 24bit /44, 48, 88 ,96kHz.
SPDIF/BNC, optical, XLR input
RCA/ XLR (balanced) output
In my experience only the most recent high-end DACs can compete with this unit. With the quality USB interfaces now available (Halide/Stello/SoTM) the DAC64 is now suitable for a top flight computer based audio system as well.
Comes in original box, with manual and original optical cable and receipt. Seldom available. Original price US$3040. Still selling well in the UK 2nd hand market for c. GBP900
Note that the seller is located in New Zealand...yes we even have audiophiles in this part of the world!
I have not traded on Audiogon before but have traded on New Zealand's equivalent of e-bay and I have 100% positive feedback. See http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Feedback.aspx?type=s&member=2782264
