All the age affected parts(front&back) have been replaced... work was done over the last couple of years... an 8hr biasing was done resulting in a cooler running amp with greater longevity... the pair of tantulum input coupling caps (reliable but harsh sounding) has been replaced by musicaps... the result is a very quiet, detailed and transparent amp with that solid dr2 bottom end... extremely revealing of anything upstream with no distortion to my ears... quite amazing... bourns linear pots (beside the tiffany RCA inputs) have been installed for left-right attenuation... its appearance is excellent with a couple of barely discernible nicks thus 7/10... photos available upon request... a detailed description of the 'refurbish' is also available... reason for sale; i have two of these monsters and one is enough to lug around in a stable of half a dozen amps... ps... from a listing on the 'Gon'... "The DR-2 is considered the best Amp ever built by CLASSE. The DR-2 is exceptionally well designed and built, it is a simple and elegant circuit design. The sound is extremely balanced with no frequency range standing out any more than another. Like all of Dave Reich's designs, it has a very natural, yet highly accurate sound. It has the cleanest bass in Solid State in my opinion. There is a touch of warmth, almost like tubes. This behemoth can drive any speaker with its very high current. This amp's 25 watts and 27db headroom is equal to others with over 200 watts and they are still no match for its dynamics."
